Spiritual Inauguration - A New Energy

Spiritual Inauguration - A New Energy

Julie Redstone

A new energy has entered the planetary sphere as a result of and simultaneous with the Inauguration of Barack Obama as the forty-fourth President of the United States. Many who had felt hopeless and despairing of change ever coming, now feel buoyant and uplifted. Many feel that doors have opened that were closed before, and that anything is possible.

This new energy of hope is brought about by the content and character of the new President himself, accompanied by the plans and dreams of the American people for a change in policy and direction. But it is also and more significantly brought about by the energy of light which has affected the consciousness of the many, allowing them to respond to the tenor of the time, and to meet the challenge of adversity and difficulty with hope, and courage, and a desire for unity. These are the values that the new President represents, and they are the values of spiritual light as they infuse the consciousness of America.

And yet in the midst of this new current of energy, much despair and hopelessness continues. The energy of new possibility, for many, is met by the energy of bleakness and lack of openings. The energy of joy is met with the energy of ongoing difficulty.

We must recognize that at a time of great promise for this country and, indeed, for the world, that there are those who do not feel uplifted and who still suffer greatly due to their personal circumstances. We must, in the presence of their pain, believe in the reality of both joy and sorrow, in the opening of doors and in those that remain, for the moment, closed.

The lesson of this time may for some, therefore, be boundless hope, that anything is possible in this nation of America. But a deeper lesson of the heart is to learn to carry both joy and sorrow, both pain and the release from pain, so that we may identify not only with some, but with all who participate in the human family of which we are each a part.

Blessings and Amen.
