Receiving Blessings In the Midst of Difficulty
This guided meditation can help us to open to God's blessings even in difficult circumstances.
When we in pain or difficulty, many of us have a tendency to close down around the pain, to contract, and to meet challenges with anger or fear or despair. This is understandable, but it keeps us in a state of separation that limits the amount of love and light that we can receive.
This guided meditation offers assistance to find the space of love and trust that is a natural part of your soul and essential self, so that you can meet challenges with greater connection, and so that you can receive greater support from the spiritual realms.

Welcome everyone, to the World's Blessings Guided Meditations. Today's guided meditation is about receiving blessings, even in the midst of difficulty, and this guided meditation is given to us to help us to attune and focus our attention on the blessings that are happening in our lives.
There's a real tendency, that I notice in myself and in others around me, also, there's a real tendency to focus on those things that may be challenging or limiting, or that feel different than how we would like. Sometimes, that focus can actually distract us from the blessings of what is happening in the present moment. So that's what this guided meditation is intended for, to help us to change our filter of perception.
So for this meditation, it's very helpful if you can be in a place that feels nurturing to you. It's even better if it can be a place that's beautiful or in some way pleasing. If that's not possible, then the meditation is best done in a place that feels peaceful. The reason for this is that you want to surround yourself with those things that remind you of blessing and goodness. That can be very helpful, especially if you are in a moment where life feels too challenging or there's too many difficulties, or you find your mind or your emotions very focused in the more negative places.
So situate yourself in some way that feels very comfortable to you, however that is. It could be sitting, standing, or even lying down. Sometimes guided meditations done lying down can create sleepiness, but other times they can actually be very helpful, depending on you and how your energy flow works.
So you want to find a place of profound and deep relaxation and comfort, however that is, sitting, standing, or lying down. Again, I recommend, especially during these times that we're living through, anything that you can do on a regular basis to have a spiritual practice of meditation or alignment or anchoring in your heart, anything that can help you in a regular way to find this place in yourself, I highly recommend that.
So now, just take some time to allow your consciousness to settle, almost like if you could imagine a feather that's gently floating down from the heavens, that kind of drifts back and forth, gently coming down to the earth. Imagine that that is your consciousness.
As your consciousness is gently sinking downwards into a place of depth and rest, allow yourself to be breathed. What I mean by that is to allow the breath to move through you, because the breath is moving through you. It isn't something you need to do anything about, it just is. So allow yourself to flow in your consciousness, with your breath slowly and gently moving downwards, downwards, downwards, as your consciousness sinks more deeply into a place of peace and rest and simplicity.
This is the essence of your soul, and the essence of your divine being, is simplicity and peace and light. That is your essential self, of love and light, peace, simplicity. Just allowing your consciousness to move down, even more deeply now, even more deeply, more rest, more peace.
All the cells of your body are beginning to release and let go of any tension or stress that you might be carrying. All the cells of your body are allowing themselves now to rest and to separate from any kind of mental activity or thoughts or especially those kind of persistent, negative thoughts.
All of those are becoming more distant as you sink more deeply into the profound, cellular wisdom of your body and your being, your inner being, your divine, essential self.
Allowing your breath to become softer, just like a baby. You notice babies, when they breathe, their bellies rise and fall very gently. Allowing your breathing to become like a baby, very gentle, very soft, very peaceful. Just allowing yourself, now, to rest in the space of simplicity and peace and rest. Just breathing, resting, receiving the light of your own inner being, which is always present and always sustaining you.
Allowing your breath, now, to become even more deeply relaxed, even more gentle and peaceful. Now, as you're in this space of peace and rest, allow your attention and your consciousness now, to focus on your heart, your heart center, your heart chakra. Breathe into your heart. You can even place your hand, or both hands, over your heart if that's helpful.
Breathing deeply into your heart, and imagine that your heart can see. Imagine that it has eyes. You've heard the expression "The eyes of the heart." See if you can experience the eyes of your heart. The eyes of your heart, what do they see? From this place of love and simplicity, innocence, rest, and peace, what is it that you see from the eyes of your heart?
Just see if anything comes to your awareness from the eyes of your heart. Deeply, deeply resting, going even more deeply into a space of peace. And now, allow yourself, still connecting with your heart, allow yourself to become aware of one blessing already in your life. Just see or feel what that is. It doesn't have to be a very large or grand thing. It could be something very simple. What is one blessing in your life? Allow yourself to breathe in that blessing into your body and your heart. Really let yourself receive it, and give thanks to God.
It could be as simple as a beautiful flower in your garden or the smile of a friend or the loving words of a family member. Whatever it is that is a blessing in your life at this time, allow yourself to receive it and breathe it fully into all the cells of your body. Breathing, relaxing, going deeper now, and as you breathe, with full awareness of this one blessing in your life, not that there aren't others, but for now you're seeing just one of them.
Allow your entire body to just let go of any other energies, thoughts, or feelings that might be going on. Just allow, give your body the suggestion that it can just let go. If there's any burdens that you're carrying, any obsessive thoughts or feelings that feel negative, or that feel less than truthful about who you are on the inside, allow yourself to let go.
You could imagine that all of the cells of your body are being bathed with a beautiful, beautiful shower of water and sunlight, just washing down through all of your body, freeing you and releasing you from anything that is burdening.
Continuing to breathe now, soft and gentle breath. And now, still in the space of your heart, allow yourself to offer a prayer up to the Divine, up to God, and ask, ask that this connection with your heart and your inner being be made stronger, so that you may be capable, even during times of stress, of returning to this place of love and peace, inner wisdom, and inner connection.
Ask and pray that that may be so. Asking from your heart, asking simply, free from any self-blame or self-judgement, just simply asking and giving yourself the suggestion and the intention that you will remain open to guidance, light, and support from the Divine ... to help you, to deepen your connection with your heart and your inner being, so that you are more and more capable of focusing your attention on those blessings that are happening in your life. It's not about denying what is difficult, but just being balanced and being grateful for all that is good that is given to us.
So now, just take another minute or so in this space, and then very gently, begin to allow yourself to come back, very slowly and gently, moving your consciousness up, kind of like walking up a staircase one step at a time. Very gently moving your consciousness up and back towards your usual waking consciousness, knowing that when you arrive back, you are feeling rested, refreshed and deeply, deeply connected with your heart. May it be so. I send you lots of love and many blessings.
