Sacred Relationships

I would appreciate some words of wisdom on the purification process that accompanies spiritual partnership... while the reflection of each other can be rather intense and apparent at times, projection onto the other person comes so easily as well... im wondering how to maintain deep and strong in my individual healing process while maintaining a deep connection with another... for it seems like i can only do one or the other. thank you... your words of wisdom make my day :)

Dearest beloved one, One of the greatest challenges, and blessings for individuals at this time, is to undertake the spiritual path of purification in partnership, in relationship with other souls. The accelerated pace and intensity of this process can at times feel daunting to the 'smaller self' which does not fully recognized the magnificence and largeness of what is being accomplished, however the rewards are many both for the individuals involved, for the human family, and for the Earth herself.

It is first necessary to understand that the process of purification happens for individuals differently, both in the content of what comes into consciousness, and also in form. The sacred transmutation of darkness into light is truly miraculous, and worthy of all of one's attention and focus, however each soul differs in their purpose, and in the depth of commitment to this process.

A relationship in which both partners share an equal commitment to the process of transformation and healing offers the maximum benefit for both partners, and also provides the greatest amount of light within the relationship itself, for there is a shared intensity of purpose.

There are relationships in which there is great love shared between the individuals, and yet the level of commitment to transformation and healing differs between them. In this type of relationship the growth and learning possible is at a different level, for the souls involved may be walking in somewhat different realities and therefore much respect and much space is needed between them so that each may have the freedom to pursue their unique soul's path and purpose.

The question of projection is an important one. Projection allows a safe vantage point from which a person can view what appears to be the fault of another, and is often an unintended first step in the process of self-examination. Eventually as the process of purification progresses, the consciousness becomes clearer and the temptation to focus judgment, blame, or criticism on another becomes lessened. The individual understands that all relationships in ones life are given as learning, and that the presence of others is a gift to help us to see ourselves.

There is another important aspect to sacred relationships in which individuals undergo the process of purification and transformation together, which is the development of a new model of relationship. This happens naturally through the process of purification, and has large-scale implications for the transformation of humanitys understanding of relationships.

The traditional romantic notions of intimacy are limited because they do not include God. As individuals awaken to the reality of God as a living presence in their life, then God becomes a more active participant in the relationship. This offers many benefits, namely that of freeing the individuals within the relationship from the illusion that they must fulfill all the needs of their partner.

When God becomes more of an active presence in a relationship, then issues and challenges within the relationship have a larger whole within which they are held. The intense emotional charge that comes from believing oneself to be alone in the world is lessened as the soul learns to connect with the larger Source of life. Thus the intense needs projected upon a partner are lessened, as each soul turns to God for the source of all nourishment.

As partners within the relationship orient themselves first to God, then all other relationships fall into greater harmony. As the soul progresses on the path of purification, she or he may discover motivations that were previously hidden, that led to choosing relationships that were not fulfilling or beneficial.

For the blessed one who asked this question, we would advise that the difficulty you are experiencing is transitional, and that as you are able to personally experience a greater number of light filled and healing relationships yourself, you will be more easily able to balance the depth required within your own process, with the depth of connection required in being with another.

We are speaking here of all sacred relationships, not simply those of intimate partnerships. There is a depth of relationship and connection possible now on the earth, here in this community, and within your life, that can free you from the previous patterns of relationship you learned at an earlier phase in your life.
